LET'S MEET
Disclaimer: I LOVE advertising and could rattle on and on about it. Although I have tried to keep it to a minimum, it has become quite a lot of text. And you know what? It's my website, so I decide. Hi! My name is Bo and I don't want to be an advertiser. Yep. You read it right, it really does say that. Now I can hear you thinking, "HUH?!" and I totally understand that. If you ask people around me, or from my guestbook: ADEM I advertise.
But the term 'advertising' has taken on quite a negative connotation for me. So every time I tell someone what I do, I feel the need to add that it is not just about those meaningless television commercials or boring flyers that you want to forget about as soon as possible.
Because certainly now, anno 2023, so much more is possible. This is why I like to call myself and my colleagues advertising inventors. Through technology, so much is possible. From entire platforms, apps and other dimentions to old-fashioned methods like bus shelters and (D)OOH. You can think of anything and it is possible. For me, that is precisely the fun part of this profession. Looking at the briefing, diving into the target group and coming up with a suitable campaign with a fitting strategy. A campaign where the chosen assets fit seamlessly, instead of vice-versa.
Although I am 100% for a better world, I do not want to limit myself to NGOs. It is precisely working for commercial brands and adding value to them (in whatever way) that I find interesting. That's where the challenge lies for me.
Furthermore, I describe myself as an ambitious and enthusiastic junior creative/copywriter. Where creativity and strategy go hand-in-hand. I often come up with human insights intuitively.
Taking these insights from daily life and translating them creatively makes my heart beat faster. Then I get that passionate sparkle in my eyes and my big smile emerges.
Of more things, by the way. Cool - open - briefings, the moment you come up with the perfect concept, proactive ideas and winning prizes, for instance. But also tight deadlines, competitions and performing under pressure. I like it.
